New Delhi, India — October 6, 2026 IAN Angel Fund has led a ₹5 crore funding round in IndigoTex, an IIT Delhi-originated deep-tech textile startup developing waterless wool finishing technology and high-performance textile products.
The round also saw participation from SIDBI, FITT and IIT Delhi Angels. IndigoTex plans to deploy the capital towards manufacturing and factory setup, expansion of its sales and operations teams, commercialisation of IndiWool™ Denim and washable wool/poly-wool fabrics, further research and development, product development, market certifications and scaling operations.
IndigoTex to Scale Waterless Wool Finishing Technology
Founded in 2024 by Satendra Singh, Prof. B.S. Butola and Dilip Singh, IndigoTex is building textile technologies focused on sustainable manufacturing, advanced wool products and technical textiles.
A key part of its product portfolio is IndiWool™ Denim, which combines the durability and versatility associated with denim with the thermal and comfort properties of wool.
The company has developed variants ranging from low-wool-content fabrics aimed at all-weather use to wool-rich variants targeted at colder climates.
According to the company, it has signed NDAs with Ralph Lauren and Kering Group, France, and is in discussions with premium and luxury brands, garment manufacturers, fabric exporters and sourcing houses.
Funding to Support Manufacturing Facility in Sonipat
IndigoTex is also developing ECOTEX™ Wool, a technology designed to enable washable wool and poly-wool fabrics while reducing the conventional dependence on dry cleaning for wool garments.
The company is setting up finishing operations at its manufacturing facility in Rai Industrial Area, Sonipat, Haryana.
The facility is expected to support scale-up of the company’s waterless wool finishing technology and commercial production of washable wool and poly-wool fabrics.
Its research and development operations will continue to be based at the Research and Innovation Park at IIT Delhi.
IndigoTex Targets International Markets
IndigoTex is positioning itself as an export-oriented deep-tech textile business focused on high-value and advanced textile products.
The company has already begun building an international market presence across Europe and other cold-climate regions, including Australia.
It has initiated discussions and collaborations across France, Russia and Denmark, and plans to deepen its presence across Europe, North America, Australia and other cold-climate markets.
IndigoTex was also among the 120 startups selected for Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France, and participated in the BRICS Summit 2026.
‘Important Milestone in Our Journey’
Satendra Singh, Co-founder and CEO of IndigoTex, said the investment marks an important stage in the company’s journey.
“This investment marks an important milestone in our journey as we build a deep-tech textile company from India for global markets.”
He added that integrity, sustainable growth, a customer-centric approach and responsible deployment of capital would remain central to the company’s decisions.
IndigoTex plans to use the funding to strengthen R&D, scale its textile technologies, expand into technical textiles and develop products aimed at solving real-world challenges.
Building Deep-Tech Textile Innovation From India
The company’s broader vision is to establish India as a source of deep-tech textile innovation for global markets.
IndigoTex aims to build a globally recognised textile R&D company focused on new materials, products and technology-led solutions while creating opportunities for textile engineers to work on practical industrial challenges.
Its portfolio spans innovative wool products, technical textiles and sustainable manufacturing technologies.
Why the Funding Matters
The investment highlights growing interest in startups operating at the intersection of deep tech, sustainable manufacturing and advanced textiles.
IndigoTex is attempting to move beyond conventional textile manufacturing by combining research-led innovation with commercial-scale production.
Its focus on waterless wool finishing, washable wool fabrics and export-oriented textile technologies places the company within a broader shift towards higher-value and more sustainable manufacturing.
The funding could help IndigoTex move from product development and validation towards larger-scale commercialisation and international market expansion.
